What is Lydney Hub?
Lydney Hub is a charity (No:1187543) that aims to help local residents build better relationships with their community. We champion initiatives that help people of all ages overcome social isolation and loneliness and provide opportunites in order to empower young people to create an inspired future.
Where are you located?
Our address is 71 Newerne Street, Lydney, GL15 5RA. We are located above Hips Social, next door to Jimmy's Kitchen.
Can I rent space at Lydney Hub?
We are currently renovating but will update you when we are ready to start taking bookings. For more informal bookings we suggest speaking with our partners at Hips Social.
Can I share my business or event on your website / social media?
If you would like to advertise your business or event on our website or social media, please Email Us.
When & where do you hold your monthly meetings?
We host a monthly public meeting on the third Monday of every month from 7-9pm at HiPs Social.
How can I become a volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with your local community, make a difference and enhance your skills. We have a number of volunteering opportunities available. You can find more details on our Volunteer page.
Do you donate money to local causes?
Unfortunately, we are not able to donate money to other causes at this time but if you have a project you think we might be interested in collaborating on, we'd love to hear from you.
Is Lydney Hub affiliated with Lydney Town Council?
Lydney Hub is not affiliated with Lydney Town Council, however in 2020 Lydney Town Council kindly donated £25,000 towards developing Lydney Youth Hub and other youth related projects. On condition of recieving this fund it was requested that a member of Lydney Town Council act as a liason on the committee, to ensure there is no conflict of interest this member is not allowed to vote at commitee meetings.

What are your plans for the future of Lydney Hub?
Currently, we are working on renovating our new space at 71 Newerne Street, Lydney, GL15 5RA. We aim to launch the new home for Lydney Youth Hub, late 2020. We will continue to update our blog regularly to keep you up to date with all our latest news and events.
How do I donate?

Is Hips Social managed by Lydney Hub?
Hips Social is owned and managed by Tom Davies & Lucy Buckingham. You can find out more about them and the food they serve here.

What is Lydney Youth Hub & Where/When do You Meet?
Lydney Youth Hub is held on a Wednesday evenings at Lydney Football Club. Our Junior sessions is open to young people in school yeas 6 & 7 and runs from 5:00-6:30pm. Our senior sessions are for young people in schools years 8-13 (or up to age 25 for young people with SEN) and runs from 6:30-8:00pm.
Young people are welcome to socialise with friends and take part in informal activities. Please take a look at our Youth Hub page which has more details of online events for young people.
Will you be running Youth Hub sessions for young people under the age of 11?
This is a common enquiry and we plan on opening sessions for 7-11 year olds once we have our new venue up and running. We will update our Youth Hub page with more information as soon as we have everything in place. Please also follow us on Facebook and Instagram for all the latest news and events.
